It first aired in Japan in April 1998 and consists of 26 episodes, each lasting about 24 minutes. It tells the story of a young girl named Hime Utsumiya who discovers a mysterious machine in the sea and becomes involved in a conflict between two factions fighting for control of the Earth.The story is set in a future where humanity has destroyed the Earth's environment and retreated to space colonies. The remaining humans on Earth are divided into two factions: the Reclaimers, who believe in restoring the natural environment, and the Novis Noah, who seek to use ancient alien technology to dominate the world. Hime, a member of the Reclaimers, discovers the Brain Powerd, a powerful ancient machine that could turn the tide of the conflict. She becomes its pilot and sets out to stop the Novis Noah's plan to use the Brain Powerd to dominate the world.The series features deep themes such as environmentalism, genetic engineering, and the search for identity. It also includes a complex and diverse cast of characters, each with their own motivations and backstories. Hime is a strong and determined protagonist who struggles with her own identity as a genetically engineered being. Other characters include Yuu Isami, a Novis Noah pilot who questions his loyalties, and Keith Anyan, a Reclaimer commander who harbors a dark secret.The animation and soundtrack of Brain Powerd are noteworthy. The mecha designs are unique and organic, resembling living creatures rather than metal constructs. The soundtrack features beautiful and haunting music composed by Yoko Kanno, who is renowned for her work on other anime series such as Cowboy Bebop and Ghost in the Shell.
